What is the Chase Bank Community Giving Competition?
The Chase Bank Community Giving Competition is being held by Chase Bank on Facebook.  Giving 5 million dollars to worthy nonprofit charities, the competition allows Facebook users to decide where the money goes.

How can I help?
You can help by making sure you vote and helping spread the word.  We need volunteers in every city throughout the world.  Print posters, make sure announcements are made, make a poll station, Facebook chat your friends and family during the week of the competition.  The ways to help are endless and can be done anywhere in the world.  Fill out the ‘Volunteer’ section and we will get in contact with you soon and use the ‘Tool Kit’ for downloadable materials to be distributed in your local community.

How can I vote?
ONLY people with Facebook accounts can vote.  If you don’t have one, make one!  You MUST have a Facebook account AND be a ‘fan’ of Chase Community Giving to vote.  Do this today!

How did the Jakara Movement make it to the second round?
With over 500,000 nonprofit charities competing in the first round, the Jakara Movement was successful in being one of the top 100 vote-earning organizations.  This was done by many volunteers and supporters throughout the world cheering for the organization and its selfless volunteers encouraging their friends and families to vote.  However, in the second round, the Jakara Movement is committed to go beyond itself as an organization and pledge the winnings to projects for the community.  In this round, it is not about the Jakara Movement, but about creating important institutions for the future!

What will the Jakara Movement do if it wins the 1 Million Dollar Grand Prize?
The Jakara Movement will build a series of Women’s Centers and make a dream of many a reality.

What is the vision for the Women’s Center?
The Women’s Center is to be a place of community, nurturing, and safety.  It is to have a secure shelter for anyone all in need, including those in domestic violence situations.  It will be able to have a stable environment for families and children.  It will continue to expand and play other future roles in the community as well.  The first one will be based in Central California.  The Women’s Center will be open to all with a specialization on immigrant, marginalized, and rural women.
